A friend once told me how she fancied the idea of being able to become invisible at will. How convenient that could be at times!

While actual invisibility might not be achievable, going unnoticed certainly is—and it can have almost the same effect! I often treat this as a game. When I sit in my front yard and someone approaches while I want to remain in my own bubble without engaging in conversation, I become very quiet inside and draw my energy field close around me. Almost always, people pass by without noticing me!

Today, I thought it would be fun to share this process with you.

The Art of Going Unnoticed A guide to Invisible Presence

Step 1: Find Your Space

Begin by finding a spot where there aren’t too many people. On a busy street or in a café, someone will always see you, and the distractions from the crowd can make it hard to find the inner stillness needed for this process.

Step 2: Turn Inward

Focus inward. If you like, you can center your attention on your heart. Slowly breathe into it, and with each breath, allow yourself to become calmer. Thoughts and feelings may arise, which is perfectly okay. See if you can let them be; after all, it’s our attention that activates them.

Step 3: Deepen the Stillness

With every breath, let the stillness within you deepen. Feel relaxation spreading through your body until you are in a state of peaceful awareness.

Step 4: Compress Your Energy Field

Visualise or sense your energy body—the invisible field around you—and gently pull it in towards your physical body. You can do this through visualization combined with the intention of compressing your field. Note that you aren’t making your energy field smaller. As an infinite being, your field is vast. By pulling it in, you bring the totality of your field into a bordered space. Since it’s energy, it will always fit.

Step 5: Blend In

Let people pass by. Avoid looking directly at them, as this sends out your energy and draws their attention. Random people are likely to pass without seeing you. Those with whom you have a deep connection may still notice you, as the connection itself reveals you to them.

Feel free to try out this fun practice and see how it works for you. It’s a gentle reminder of the power of our energy and the subtle ways we can navigate the world.
